Professional Certification
The buildingSMART Professional Certification (PCERT) program looks to address standardisation in BIM education by providing an international framework and benchmark for training and certification.
buildingSMART Professional Certification is a proof of competence for professionals working with BIM. Qualified and Certified professionals can demonstrate their knowledge is consistent with international standards and best practices.
This international initiative is being developed and adopted in Europe, Asia, Australasia, and the Americas. Whether you are a training organisation or individual seeking certification, we invite you to be part of this exciting initiative.
PCERT Training and Certification
With the launch of the Professional Certification - Foundation program in Australasia, bSA completed the integration of the local BIMcreds Certification program into the PCERT Program to provide a global benchmark for openBIM competency assessment.
Individuals who have undertaken an approved PCERT training course will be eligible to sit the exam and become buildingSMART Qualified.
bSA is offering individuals who have previously qualified with the BIMcreds Certification Program to apply and sit the PCERT qualification exam without having to attend a buildingSMART approved training course (this offer ends 31st December 2022).

Training Providers
It is not the intention of buildingSMART to deliver individual trainings, but rather to provide a framework from which courses can be developed, training providers can be accredited and against which participants can be assessed and certified.
Training organisations can join the PCERT program through their local buildingSMART Chapter. By adopting the localised learning framework, training providers can have their courses ‘buildingSMART approved’. A list of approved training providers can be found here.
